About

A way of talking to each other, not a method of obedience.

This training teaches Marshall Rosenberg's nonviolent communication — observing without judging, naming what one feels, recognising needs, asking clearly, listening with empathy — within the life of a family, without ever promising a miracle solutionThe NVC help to talk to each other; it does not rule not a family on its own.

Who this course is for

For parents, step-parents, couples and grandparents, whatever the age of the children — and for anyone who would like to argue less badly and get along a little better at home. No prerequisites, no jargon.

What NVC is, and what it is not

A process and a stance, formalized by Marshall Rosenberg and made accessible in French notably by Thomas d'Ansembourg. Widely practiced in schools and families, it is neither a method for obtaining obedience, nor a therapy, nor a guarantee: the training states this plainly and attributes each idea to its author.

When NVC Is No Longer Enough

The backbone of the whole training: violence between adults, gestures or words that frighten a child, a child's persistent suffering, a parent's exhaustion — one does not respond to danger with « a little more NVC ». The training provides the Swiss resources (doctor, paediatrician, psychologist, the 147 line for young people, 143 La Main Tendue, the child protection authority, the police in case of danger) and reminds us that asking for help is an act of responsibility.

Framework and limits. This training conveys a way of speaking to one another, with an educational aim. It replaces neither paediatric, psychological or psychiatric follow-up, nor family therapy or professional mediation, and authorises no medical advice. All the cases and families presented are fictional.
